Metal Flaque

Being sick in Paris is no fun! I was sick as a dog in bed all day yesterday. I thought I was dying! I am so grateful that it was a holiday too so I didn't have to go to work. Luckily, I was a tad bit better today.

I just went to work today and it was sooooo busy! We had a lot of appointments for bridal fittings, so I was busy helping brides-to-be try on wedding dresses and fit them to their body perfectly. It was like the show "Say yes to the dress!" Luckily, I didn't have to deal with any bridezillas, but I did feel like Cinderella in the sense of feeling like the poor girl watching all these lucky girls try on all these beautiful dresses and staring at them in awe.

One girl tried on my favorite Vera Wang "Fawn" dress, it looked soooooo beautiful!

And then I helped another client try on these Jenny Packham dresses. She's quickly becoming one of my favorite designers! I LOVE her stuff! She's a British fashion designer best known for her bridal gowns and ready to wear collections. Her accessories are also pretty cool too.

The French women here are not shy at all when undressing and trying on these dresses! I'm sure a lot of gentlemen wish they were in my shoes! Apparently, Metal Flaque really is the place to go in Paris for wedding dresses! I was really surprised. I thought Paris would be flooded with stores where women could go to, but we're pretty much the only ones that exclusively carry most of these designers. And it's not just from what I've been told by the staff at the boutique, but also by the clients!

I met David today who also works at Metal Flaque and he was telling me that the company is only a few years old and they blew up in popularity in the past year. They are struggling to keep up with the demand, but obviously are happy with the success. I love David! He makes me laugh so hard! He was telling me he loves American shows and downloads them. The last apprentice from Montana got him hooked on Glee and I was thinking to myself how funny would it be if I got him hooked on General Hospital?! (I'm probably the only one that would think that's funny cuz I am obsessed with the soap still after all these years!) David was telling me by September, they are going to get rid of all their cocktail dresses and make the whole store just Bridal gowns since that is predominantly their biggest revenue. I told him I'd be more than happy to take whatever dresses they don't want out of their hands! (half kidding) He laughed and then told me there would be a big big sale end of June or was it July? I can't wait! Hopefully, I'll be able to afford buying one of these amazing dresses at the boutique!

I also spent some time with Marion watching her do some alterations and learning some things from her. She was telling me that it would be a good opportunity for me to examine and study how these dresses are made inside out. I definitely want to examine the Vera Wang, Oscar de la Renta, Jenny Packham and Monique Lhuillier dresses!

I didn't have an interesting lunch, just went to the supermarket and got a wrap that wasn't anything impressive. And when I went home from work, I stopped by the supermarket again to pick up some groceries to try to save some money since it'll add up if I go out to eat every single day for 3 meals a day. So I ended up making pasta for dinner. I wouldn't say I'm a chef, but I don't think I'm a bad cook either. Unfortunately, today I had my worst meal yet here and it was made by me! wahhh :( I always cook pasta, but at the market they didn't have the Prego sauce I usually use to make it. It really sucks when I'm in Europe, I can never find good pasta sauce to cook with. They all taste horrible! So I wouldn't totally blame my cooking skills for this disaster, but oh well. Thank God I have fruit, cereal and yogurt for back up! I did take a pic of it, but it's not worthy to post haha

I've been trying to take pics of fashion trends I see here, but I am pretty shy because I don't want to get yelled at for being a weird, crazy Asian girl taking their photo out of the blue like a stalker, but I was able to quickly snap this photo without her noticing. This is almost like a uniform here...all the ladies wear a jacket or blazer over these rolled up skinny jeans! I'd have to say I like this look.

After the work day the streets are flooded with cars, motorcycles, vespas, and bicycles! It's funny watching all the men and women in their suits ride on by. Oh gas is really expensive here in Europe too! More so than in the States!

It's Friday night and I'm stuck at home! I have work tomorrow and I'm still sick so I'm going to take it easy again. I rather save my energy for when my friend JB comes to visit tomorrow! Also, I am going to meet up with Francie too who I met on the plane ride over here. I want to feel better and go out then! It'll be nice to have some company since I am getting tired of talking to myself and plus it'll be good to have people to explore and eat with! :)

I hope I'll have more interesting things to share with you then! Until then...Bonne nuit! Bisous Bisous! oxox
