First Day in the City

Can't believe I've moved to NYC for the summer! So random, but so far so good! I saw a posting for an internship at DVF/Nathan Jenden and thought it's gonna be a long shot, but applied anyways...next thing ya know I'm on the megabus for an interview and land the internship! I was definitely shocked cuz I really didn't think I was gonna get it! Last time I did something like that was when I did a fashion internship in Florence, Italy about 4 years ago. God I miss that experience!

Well searching for a sublet was a stressful and tiring experience, but thank God for my cousins and friends that found me a cute place in the Upper West Side! I love it here!!! So yesterday, June 1st my parents and I drove from Boston to NYC...I felt like I was in college again where my parents dropped me off! Guess they will never get tired of worrying about me or treating me like I'm a kid haha...my mom was so cute and of course cried when we parted ways. So cute! 

I was so exhausted since I was up the whole night packing (of course leaving it til the last minute!)...but I was good, I unpacked most of my stuff the night I got there and of course had to make sure I found the perfect outfit to wear for my first day at DVF!

I was happy I was able to get my way around through the subway and walking to work by myself! First day there was great, but definitely exhausting! We were working late since the Resort Fashion Show is tomorrow, but I got to do a lot and met some reallllly nice people! I was so surprised and scared cuz I thought people were gonna be catty and snobby, but they were totally not! I can't wait to meet Diane and Nathan! I'm going to be working a lot, but I think it'll be worth it for the experience! It still seems so surreal to me since I can't believe I'm actually making my dreams come true...up until about a year ago I didn't think it would be possible for me to do something like this, but I am now! I feel very fortunate and proud of myself! Anyhoo...good night! :)
